"It's touched countless lives; it's influenced all genres of music," President Obama said of country music in his welcoming remarks. "It's helped make the American people more hopeful."
The special show, part of the White House Music series founded by First Lady Michelle Obama, was held in the historic East Room at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. More than 120 middle and high school students from across the country attended with the First Family. GAC's 'Country at the White House' will follow a group of those kids as they make their way from Nashville to the nation's capitol for this once-in-a-lifetime trip. The show will also include full performances from Brad, Charley and Alison.
Tune in to 'Country at the White House' on GAC, this Saturday, Aug. 15 at 9:00 PM ET.
