Toby Keith Makes Good on Promise to Soldier

Toby Keith is a man of his word. Just ask the McKenna family in Purcell, Okla.

Toby met Sgt. Robby McKenna when he was on his seventh USO Tour last April, and the young man asked a special favor of his fellow Oklahoman. He gave Toby a birthday present for his stepmother and asked if the country star would mail the package once he got back to the U.S. The singer promised that he would.

But instead of mailing the gift, Toby decided to deliver it in person. He and a friend, Curt Motley, got on their Harleys and drove to the McKenna's home to make the gift from the young soldier even more special. Sgt. McKenna just happened to phone home while Toby was there, so he got to talk to the singer again, putting the call on speaker phone so that his fellow soldiers could hear.

"It was a remarkable night that we won't forget," the McKennas told their hometown newspaper, the Purcell Register. "We don't know how to express our gratitude for what Toby has done for us, for Robby and his troop ... We wanted to share this story with the readers of our newspaper because we wanted them to know what kind of person Toby Keith is. He's a hard worker. He loves his country. He cares for the soldiers. And he's a man of his word, and we know these things are facts."

Toby is heading back across the ocean this fall, this time to go on what will be his first European tour.

Do you really think it would be possible to have Mr. Keith come to the little town of Hopewell,PA? My stepson is getting to come home for a short visit in Oct around the 20th to see his new baby girl being born! It is second tour over once in Iraq which thanks by the grace of God he was injured but was saved, this time it was in Afghanistan, On August 29th we received a call where he was slightly wounded again foot injuries. He really is going thru a battle. If anyone has any connections please let me know. It would be a true blessing.

Purcell is only twenty miles from Norman, OK, Toby's hometown. Driving is easier than mailing the gift. It was nice of him, but what's the big deal?

toby is an a$$ all he did is make money of the war with his bull $hit songs. He exploted the solders for profit.He backed the other criminal gwb for a phoney war that has ruined this country.No other country on this planet other than Iseral the other criminals likes American's any more. What matters is what he did and he didn't do it for glory or show how much he cared about our troops.
If he had his whole entourage and media would have been there.
He is a patriot who supports our troops and sings patriotic songs.
I knew nothing about his feud but it doesn't matter. What does is his humanity.

NOT ONLY IS HE A GREAT SINGER..AND A FAIRLY GOOD ACTOR..AND LETS NOT FORGET HE'S CUTE TOO!! BUT HIS DEVOTION TO OUR TROOPS IS AWSOME..AND THE FACT THAT HE DON'T TAKE NO CRAP FROM ... HE'S A TRUE AMERICAN AND SO ARE HIS SONGS.I REALLY HAVE TO BE THANKFUL OF THE PERSON WHO STARTED THE REAL SUPPORT OF OUT TROOPS..
