Tammy Wynette, Mark D. Sanders and Kye Fleming are the latest writers to be inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.Tammy penned many of her own hits, including 'The Ways To Love a Man,' 'Till I Can Make It On My Own' and 'Stand By Your Man,' which became one of the most successful singles by a woman in country music history. The legendary singer, who passed away in 1998, will be honored in the Songwriter/Artist category.
Mark D. Sanders' catalog boasts a laundry list of country smashes, including George Strait's 'Blue Clear Sky,' Faith Hill's 'It Matters To Me' and Reba McEntire's 'The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter.' He is perhaps best known for his Grammy award-winning hit, 'I Hope You Dance,' recorded by Lee Ann Womack.
Kye Fleming wrote several country classics, including Barbara Mandrell's 'I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool' and 'Sleeping Single in a Double Bed,' as well as Ronnie Milsap's 'Smoky Mountain Rain' and 'I Wouldn't Have Missed It for the World.'
The Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held on Oct. 18 in Nashville.
