Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will participate in "Country United: Advancing Medicine from the Frontlines to the Homefront." The two-day symposium to be held Nov. 6-7 in Washington, D.C., is dedicated to supporting advances in medical research and care for the nation's wounded and injured servicemen and women.Tim and Faith will perform, along with the Warren Brothers and other artists, at an awards gala hosted by sportscaster Bob Costas. The ceremony will recognize military and civilian heroes.
Leading experts will gather at the symposium to discuss improvements in medical care and quality of life for wounded and ill soldiers.
The event will also feature a keynote luncheon with speeches to be delivered by Faith and Lt. Col. Gregory Gadson, who lost both his legs to a roadside bomb in Baghdad.
"Our military men and women have sacrificed so much for our country, as have all those who have ever served our nation," Faith said when the event was announced earlier this year. "It's my honor to be involved with Country United and to take part in recognizing the tireless efforts of the medical community to advance care for our nation's warriors and citizens."
The Country United event is being presented in part by the Tug McGraw Foundation, which Tim and Faith started in honor of Tim's father. The baseball legend passed away from brain cancer five years ago. For more information on the event, visit www.countryunited.org.

I love reading about the country stars "other" lives. Their real lives. It makes them so much more human. They aren't all dressed up wearing sparkly, expensive cowboy boots to clean out the horses stable or even to run to the market for a gallon of milk. They are "real".
