Taylor Explains Thought Process During Kanye Debacle

Kanye West has posted an online apology to Taylor Swift and even went on the 'Jay Leno Show' to express his regret on Monday, but he hasn't spoken directly to the star whose VMA acceptance speech he hijacked.

"He has not personally reached out," Taylor explained Tuesday on ABC's 'The View.' "But if he wanted to call and say hi ... "

Taylor kept her composure as Kanye interrupted her Best Female Video award acceptance speech. But what was going through her mind?

"My overall thought process was something like, 'Wow, I can't believe I won! This is awesome! Don't trip and fall! I'm going to get to thank the fans; this is so cool .... Oh... Kanye West is here. Cool haircut! What are you doing?' And then, 'Ouch. I guess I'm not going to get to thank the fans.'"

Taylor had to perform live just about five minutes after the debacle. She says she was "rattled" by Kanye's antics but found strength in friends and family backstage who came to her defense. Those friends, family members and fans are continuing to show their loyalty to 'Team Taylor.'

"All the other artists that came and showed me love, all the people 'tweeting' about it, all the fans -- I never imagined there were that many people looking out for me," Taylor explains. "It was really wonderful to see there were people out there defending me, so I didn't have to."

Taylor is the first-ever country star to take home an MTV Video Music Award.

Kanye, during 9/11 and your performance during that ALL NETWORKS fund raising rally made a very good name for you and people like me who had NO CLUE who you were. but now, your true COLORS are showing, as was serena, with you NYC nationally viewed 'meltdowns' came to pass!! screw you and the belligerant trespass you delivered to a young amazed winner to a debacle and unwarranted publicity that maybe/DEFINITELY she did not want a part of. stay home and makes your spinning the LP backward supposedly music if thats what you call it.

Just another gangsta' wanna-bee trying to prop up his miserable, failing career.......I would have loved to see Taylor wheel around with the statue and clock west in the grill. Now that would have been cool! A little country girl KO'ing a drunken rapper- on national tv...Now there's an MTV moment!

First she is a teenager he is supposed to be a grown man?? The biggest problem is that the Kanye's and his sort want to see sex in videos and shake and jiggle and touch what they have. It makes no sence to him or others that not everyone likes their kind of music and not everyone needs to be in your face ghetto to be popular! Why didnt anyone stop his crap? Why didnt they cut out? I hope he is embarrased and it better be more than an apology to Ms. Swift - he's become an embarrasement to music she however is the princess. Im proudest to say my kids only listen to country and southern hard rock... not by pressure but by choice - they see psuedo rap for what it is nonsence wanna be tough and oh soo sexy - long live the swift - paisley, otto, urban, and zac brown real music!

Though he is an extremely talented artists, one of the best of my generation; a wonderful lyrical poet, I am done with Kanye. His antics at the LAX airport, his denouncing other artists when they win and he doesn't....it has clouded the integrity of his music and my interest in him as an artist. I lost interest in him, and of course respect.

He needs to go to an Anthony Robbins coaching session, or a therapist whoo will teach him that his ego will be, eventually, the end of his career.

Granted the man is a jackass, however he was right in what he said. He just went about it the wrong way. To all with your racist and wack comments eat a ****. YOU ARE A BUNCH OF HATERS. Calling people monkeys and what not is uncalled for. I would return the favor but that would mean going to a level that is beneth me. Besides mtv has been doing West dirty for years. But everyone is quick to run to the side of the little white girl with the one hit wonder. Kanye, you made yourself and who you represent look real bad. Quite frankly, I dont know of any songs Kanye sings or raps. Being a rapper does not fall in any category of being a musician. When rap first came out, it was tolerable and some pieces were catchy, again, not music. It drives me crazy to see young white males trying to emulate what these thugs talk about. All they talk about are money, bitches, bling, stealing, killing, etc. None of these things are positive nor productive in society. Very troubling to say the least.
