Lucinda Williams Weds on Stage

Lucinda Williams tied the knot Friday in front of friends, family and fans. The three-time Grammy winner married her manager, Tom Overby, on stage after her concert at the legendary First Avenue venue in Minneapolis, Minn. Lucinda's public nuptials were modeled after those of the late Hank Williams, who married his second wife, Billie Jean, on stage in New Orleans.

Friday's show and wedding also kicked off Lucinda's 30th Anniversary Tour, celebrating her three decades as a recording artist. Click here for cities and dates.

bigswfty, why be a jerk? why not enlighten someone? Lucinda is a big star to some, just not "mainstream" in some senses. but you'd probably recognize her stuff sung by others

Now most of you wouldn't have an idea who she is. I'm pretty sure a lot of you are young who are posting lol. She's been singing since 1979. I'm pretty shocked about the Taylor Swift comment...(She's no Taylor Swift)... this lady is a legend not someone who has only 5 years of a career under her sleeve. You can't compare someone like that with someone who hasn't been in the business for that long. That is just downgrading them. Now don't get me wrong I love Taylor's music and she's very talented too, but wow.

sunnibunni, I don't think that comment meant she's *less* than Taylor Swift.. I think the poster was trying to point out what she's accomplished in her 30 year career, if you read the rest of that post...

Well, she's no Taylor Swift...She's got three grammys, written a ton of great songs, and has worked hard in a tough business for THIRTY YEARS! I was there and it was fantastic. It's too bad some people can't show respect for those that pay their dues. She is truly a terrific ARTIST. Not a kewpie doll machined by a corporation...so there....

Ummmm...who? She may not be on the "A List" of country music entertainers and her name is not familiar to most but best wishes to her.
Many times the AOL link to The Boot is a tease with words like superstar, country music legend, etc. and the readers (who are pretty hip to the starts and legends) are like..."Who?" But hey, 3 Grammys are nothing to be ashamed of.
