Gretchen Wilson Launches Redneck Records

Gretchen Wilson is feeling presidential these days. The 'Redneck Woman' is taking the reins and becoming president of her very own record label called -- yep -- Redneck Records!

Based at Studio 27 in Lebanon, Tenn,, just outside Nashville, the label's first release will be Gretchen's 'Work Hard, Play Harder,' which she co-wrote with John Rich and Vicky McGehee. The single is the first from Gretchen's album, 'I Got Your Country Right Here,' set to hit stores in early 2010.
"My management and I looked at a lot of different options over the last couple of months, and starting Redneck Records made the most sense to continue the relationships I've built with radio, retail and the fans," says Gretchen, who left Sony Music earlier this year, after three chart-topping albums. "This is a really exciting time in my life, and I'm looking forward to everyone hearing my new music."

Gretchen Wilson took country music by storm in 2004 with 'Redneck Woman' logging five weeks at No. 1 and earning the Pocahontas, Ill., native both the ACM and CMA Female Vocalist of the Year awards, as well as a Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance.

Gretchen's 'Work Hard, Play Harder' music video can be seen at the singer's official website.

"OMG"I am a 68 year old woman.I have one thing left on my "BUCKET LIST"that is to meet Kid Rock and go back stage at a concert. It would just make my day to be able to get down with him.If you live in Lebanon or Watertown,Tn you may have seen me around town,I drive a blue PT Cruiser that has KID ROCK on my rear window.I play his Cd's,blasting so much, one of my speakers is gone."SONGS" I have written a rap song It's Called Lookin for Kid Rock, the lyrics are a little on the nasty side so I'd better not put it in my post.
