Keith Urban first visited the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville as a tourist in 1989, and it was an experience he continues to carry with him to this day."We stayed at the Shoney's hotel on Demonbreun [St.]," Keith tells Nashville's Tennessean newspaper. "It was walking distance to the Hall, so I walked. The Hall was in the old building, and it was tiny at the time. I was happy to pay admission. I'd wanted to go to Nashville since I was a boy, and when I got here, it was mind-blowing to me."
Twenty years later, Keith is now headlining his 'All For The Hall' concert at Nashville's Sommet Center Tuesday (Oct. 13), with proceeds from the 10,000 tickets sold raising money for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
"I began to think about a dedicated show, specifically for the Hall, with a lot of different people involved. And then everyone jumped on board. Before I knew it, everybody was offering their time, from the artists to the vendors. It's a small way for me to give back. The things I've got in my life and that I'm able to do, it's all connected in some way to Nashville. This is where I'd dreamed of being, where I am, and where I want to be, [so] doing this show was a no-brainer to me."
The all-star lineup joining Keith for the concert includes Vince Gill, Faith Hill, Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean and Taylor Swift.
