Martina McBride Joins Oprah at the State Fair of Texas

Martina McBride and Oprah WinfreyMartina McBride helped the people of the Lone Star State welcome Oprah Winfrey to the State Fair of Texas in Dallas on Sunday (Oct. 11). The talk show queen was at the nation's largest fair to tape a special episode the following day.

Decked out western wear, the iconic Oprah told the crowd, ""[I'm wearing] my new Stetson and my new boots I bought yesterday. I'm all 'Texified.'"

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that Oprah and best friend, Gayle King, spent much of Sunday sampling a wide variety of fried foods.

"Gayle and I have eaten our way through the fair," Oprah told the crowd that had gathered to watch the show taping. "I think I'm in a food coma." (No word on whether Oprah indulged in one of the fair's signature treats -- fried butter!)

Martina offered up selections from her latest album, 'Shine,' as well as the empowering 'This One's for the Girls.'

The taping also featured designer Nate Berkus hanging out with Dolly. No, not superstar Dolly Parton, but a grand champion dairy cow by that name! Also on hand were the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders.

No air date has been announced for the episode, but it is due to run sometime this fall.

Sounds like a lynch mob is in session!
Posts such as the majorities of these is what keeps racism ALIVE. Most people associate Texas with Stetson, Cowboys, boots and country music.
Those are thing a person from Texas should be proud of.
Instead some of you just have to let those racist roots show. SHAME ON YOU!!!

The use of a noose in Texas is well documented for criminals. Bruce's use in the context used was as inappropriate as your assertion that his post was racist. It was NOT, a slam on weight yes but not race. Just because someone dislikes a person of color does not mean they are racists. get a grip on reality.

I am male, 45, WHITE and did NOT vote for Obama, and yet thoroughly disgusted by some of your comments concerning Oprah coming to Texas. Racist Pigs that have nothing better to do than make comments about someone who does more good for people in one day than most of us do in a year. Big deal if she wanted Obama in office, somebody had to be elected. She puts on a few pounds because HELLO, not 25 anymore. She comes to Texas, puts on a stetson and cowboy boots and this is how we treat her??? I'd rather Texas be known for something (like boots and hats) than nothing (Quick...whats Alabama known for...tehir oranges?) Ya'll are nothing but a bunch of racist PIGS, and I would rather hang the whole lot of ya. Maybe I'll reverse the tables on you, start a lynch mob for racist pigs! Ha! Wouldn't tht be hilarious.

well I don't have anything against Oprah, I like her. I wonder if she will come to Illinois and back a small group of striking women whom could use her help against a millionaire? Chances are she wont, but hey never hurts.. LOCAL 231 on strike in Pekin Illinois.

Oprah looks old. Why in the world would she ever wear yellow, makes her look like a lumpy butterball!

Is Oprah going to have to pay extra on her health insurance because she's so overweight? Now that she's old, I don't think it would be cost effective for doctors to treat her.

Uh sorry but "Texified" does not exist in our Texas vocabulary and we certainly don't go around looking like that for heaven's sake. Oprah makes me want to vomit. She is such a phony and after endorsing and practically paying for the white house because it was her goal to get a black man elected...any black man will do I guess...I can see how utterly hypocritical she is since the man is loading with unsavory associations and connections. She thinks she is God and she rules the world. Boo Oprah...I know many of us have stopped watching her because she is racist and has double standards for blacks and whites. After watching the show on the comment Don Imus made and seeing her fawn all over rappers that commonly use the "n" word and treat women so disrespectfully but she never nailed their butts to the wall. And the way she fawned over Russell Simmons or whatever that idiot's name is...he is now Mr. Hampton preppie but he sure started out with gutter ghetto rap. They all make me sick.

The fact that people come to Texas and think that they have to wear boots & a hat is so stupid. I've lived in Texas most of my life. The majority of people here DON'T walk around looking like that.
