Steve Martin's Music Video Is Going to the Dogs

Steve Martin has spent much of his career in front of the camera entertaining fans with his movies, and more recently his banjo playing. Now he wants to be entertained -- by you and your canine friends!

The multifaceted comedian/musician is asking fans to make a video for 'Wally on the Run,' a track from his album, 'The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo.' In a video message available on his recently re-launched website, the funnyman explains that the song's title was inspired by watching his dog, Wally, run around the yard at top speed. Lamenting that he didn't have time to make a music video for the tune, that's why he's leaving the task to dog owners everywhere.

Visit the 'Wally on the Run' page at Dailymotion.com to download the track, upload your own video submissions and view videos from other entrants. The contest ends Dec. 1, and Steve himself will select the first-prize winner, who will receive $1000. The runner up gets 99 cents as a refund for the purchase of the song!

Steve recently took home two awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association. He's currently on tour with the Steep Canyon Rangers, spotlighting songs from 'The Crow.'

I just wrote a song about the pony I owned when I was a kid. I'm asking Randy Travis to record it because he seems like the right choice for such a song.

I wrote it in fifteen minutes (lyrics only), Randy will have to write the score. I may be a lryic writer but have no talent on musical instruments, especially guitar and piano.

It WILL be a hit, I promise.
