John Rich and his wife, Joan, are soon to have a party of three. The Boot has exclusively confirmed with the country star's reps that he and his wife are expecting their first baby. John and Joan tied the knot last December, at Nashville's famed Ryman Auditorium. Their wedding came as a surprise to fans and friends alike, as the couple kept their engagement under wraps. The singer has also kept tight-lipped about this pregnancy. Though John gave The Boot his blessing to print this story, he had no further comment on his future as a father. He's simply a star who likes to keep his private life private.
"You've got to keep some things to yourself if you want to protect your sanity," he told The Boot back in March, when we asked why he kept his wedding out of the public eye. "I want to keep my family from media sharks who just want to take a bite out of your ass any chance they get. They're welcome to anything I've got in the music world, but when it comes to my family, that's off limits."
There's no word yet on a due date for Baby Rich. Our congratulations go out to the parents-to-be!
