No, that's not a typo -- we didn't forget the second 't.' Jimmy Buffett's first studio album in three years is named after a colonial-era train station/hotel, the Buffet Hotel, which was the prime place to hear music in the West African country of Mali back in the '60s. The legendary musician was recently in Mali to attend Festival in the Desert, an event he calls "one of the best musical experiences of my life." Produced by Michael Utley and Mac McAnally, 'Buffet Hotel' has 12 new tracks, including 'Summerzcool' -- the beach song that also became the name of Jimmy's tour this summer. The new project boasts a who's-who of special guest artists, including Sonny Landreth, Jake Shimabukuro, Cedric Burnside, Steve "Lightnin'" Malcolm and Toumani Diabate. The CD's packaging also includes a 24-page booklet printed on recycled paper.
Jimmy Buffett's 'Buffet Hotel' is due in stores Dec. 8. Pre-order the album here.
