Country musicians are well-known for saluting their heroes, many of whom, naturally, are other musicians. But earlier this year, Dierks Bentley came face-to-face with someone who would just this week, go above and beyond the call of duty, and is now being as the hero who helped end the shooting rampage at Fort Hood yesterday (Nov. 5). On his Twitter page, Dierks has a photo of himself with civilian police Sgt. Kimberly Munley, taken on July 4. The photo has made the rounds of media outlets in the past 24 hours.Today, Dierks tweeted, "was able to speak to sgt munley & pass along my prayers for a speedy recovering. she's tough! and couldn't be more nice or humble.real hero."
Sgt. Munley and her partner responded within three minutes of reported gunfire Thursday afternoon on the military base, reports the New York Daily News. According to Lt. Gen. Bob Cone, Sgt. Munley, who is trained in active-response tactics, rushed into the building and confronted the shooter as he was turning a corner.
Wounded in the gunfire exchange, Munley was reported in stable condition at a local hospital. Cone reports she spent Thursday night phoning fellow officers, letting them know she was fine and asking about casualties in the attack -- the deadliest ever on a U.S. military base. The death toll rose to 13 early Friday, while 28 people are still recovering from their injuries.

Annie and Ronkairgroup, like you I think that they need to keep their comments related to the content of the story. I've just pressed the report button on all three to aol.
To the families, and friends of the Fort Hood tragedy you have my deepest sympathies and my heartfelt prayers. Nothing I say, can undo what has been done, but I feel you need to know that others feel the loss, not as much as you do I know. But, it was a senseless and horrific loss. God Bless You.
