Taylor Swift Wins 2009 CMA Entertainer of the Year

Taylor SwiftTaylor Swift has been crowned CMA Entertainer of the Year, making her the youngest artist ever to take home the evening's highest honor.

"I will never forget this moment," a very emotional Taylor said, "because in this moment, everything I ever wanted has just happened to me." Inviting her entire band to join her on stage, she tearfully continued, "Thank you for this moment. Thank you. Every single person in that category let me open up for them ... thank you. I love you all."

Taylor also won Album of the Year and Female Vocalist. She's the first female to win the trophy in the Entertainer category since Shania Twain won in 1999.

I thought Taylor was from Pennsylvania? Which isn't the rural south. She does fit in well in pop music.

I like taylor swift but there is no way she should have won entertainer of the year or female vocalist of the year against those that were also up for those awards

First time I feel compelled to comment on the Boot. Taylor Swift is an awesomely talented, gifted and entertaining young woman. She out paces many well known song writers today, but I have never heard her voice exhibit a tenth of the vocal talent anyone, anyone, anyone would need to come out on top from among the talented group of ladies represented in last night's programming.

Taylor Swift completely DESERVES her entertainer of the year award from CMA. She has that down cold. I have never enjoyed hearing her sing live, but I have always loved her performance/staging/expressions/costuming.

to those of you who are complaining about what this young lady can not do right should realize you do not have the courage to do what she does and that is get up in front millions of people and sing knowing there will be people that will not be pleased with what or how she does something.. personally i am proud that at her age she is able to keep a positive outlook even with all the critics out there always putting there two sense in where it does not belong... if you are that disappointed in a young woman who is achieving some really great things then you strap on a guitar get on that stage and see if you can do it any better...

I think everyone is intitled to their own opinions HOWEVER I see a lot of immaturity in these comments. Remarks like "12 year olds must have been the only people who voted for her" I'm 29 and I wish Taylor Swift would have been here when I was a kid because she is one of the best I have ever seen. She is "real" and look at the awesome song she writes!!!! I think she has a beautiful voice ESPECIALLY for all the moving around she does. I'm sick of seeing people just stand their... she is AWESOME and deserved every award she got just as everyone who gets awards deserves what they get. Negative comments should be banned...

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It was rough. That had to be the worst show of all time. I'm sure it will make the top ten worst shows of all time.
Country Music could have did better then that.
I think they gave it to Taylor because for some unknown reason she has sold a lot of albums to people who are tone deaf and haven't developed their prefrontal cortex.
Amazing how un honest people are in Country Music and it's the Genre thats supposed to be honest.

I think she deserves it... I actually had the opportunity to be her bodyguard when she first became big and she is a very sweet girl who will do anything for her fans. She is very talented and I'm glad she won entertainer of the year :)
