Just one day after Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough were rumored to have broken up, they appeared at the CMA Awards together, holding hands. But in spite of the show of solidarity, rumors continue to swirl that the pair may have called it quits, fueled partly by comments by Julianne's own brother, Derek Hough."All I know is that Julianne has been incredibly, incredibly busy," Derek tells PEOPLE. "She is doing such a great job right now, but she really is in a different place every time that I talk to her."
Julianne was noticeably absent from the red carpet, where Chuck was busy acting as host for 'Entertainment Tonight.' He did take time out from his duties, however, to acknowledge the difficult time the pair are having, but remained tight-lipped on whether he was back on the market or not. "Julianne and I are going to address what's going on in our personal life together," he told ET. "I think that's the only right way to do it and we'll make a statement on that ... Julianne is actually my date tonight, so it's all good. We're going to have a good time and we will address it together, but right now we're going to have a lot of fun," he said.
Julianne will certainly have enough to keep her occupied in the next few months. The singer and dancer is adding actress to her resume, appearing opposite Christina Aguilera, Cher and Kristen Bell in the movie 'Burlesque,' as well as starring opposite Chace Crawford in the remake of the hit '80s movie, 'Footloose.' Meanwhile, Chuck is back in the studio, working on his sophomore album.

I have to address the fact that Taylor Swift won so many awards at last night's CMA's. I think she is a talented song writer. I will give her that. She is also wildly popular with the younger generation. It amazes me that she won the awards that she did. Am I the only person that is not tone deaf? Sure, she sounds good on her CD's because they are computer enhanced and such, but live performances show you the real deal. SHE CANNOT SING. She can't hit high notes, she can't sing in key, and her tone is horrible. I just don't understand how I am the only person who can hear the fact that she can't sing (it seems that way). She beat out singers that are tremendously talented and they can carry a tune.

My husband thinks I wrote these comments. I have parroted them almost word for word! How can she be entertainer of the year when she Opened for the REAL talents?!

I agree with you 100%. Her songs are good and shes sounds good on CD but her singing live sucks.. as much as I dont want to say it, it just does... shes a sweeheart though! Im glad for her success. It just goes to show that when you want to achieve something, you have to have confidence in yourself and just go for it, so congrats to Taylor!

I'm so glad you said that about Taylor Swift...I was beginning to think I was the only one who that her voice sucks. She should be a songwriter..but not a singer

I agree with you! And she sure is not country. She sounds just like Jessica and Brittany. NO Talent!!!!!

I was most excited about Jamey Johnson actually winning for In Color, really a true country singer actually winning something. And he writes his own songs..and he can actually carry a tune.

I totally agree that Taylor Swift cannot sing- it was horrible that such great talent was not rewarded for their longetivity and maturity- I think Taylor will be better when she matures-but for now the real talent lies with Reba, Kenny, Brad, and all the others-who is buying her stuff anyway

You are not the only one who feels that way about Taylor Swift, wendyrrt. She CAN'T sing without enhancements, unlike someone like Susan Boyle who doesn't even NEED music to carry a tune. Yes, their styles are different, but why is it people like Swift rise to enormous heights. She is not even in the same league voice-wise as Carrie Underwood. At any rate, I think Julianne Hough is a far better singer than Swift.

Human-Nights:
You are all right Taylor CANNOT sing. The CMA has market her to the young for fans. Or as we say hor her for the greed of money. The show sucked!! That want a be race car driver (Dale JR) needs a lesson in class and dressing. What a Jerk-Off!!!!
Other quest had no reason being there. Hell my invite was lost in the mail.. Where was Ms Dolly!!
She can still sing better than all those young TRAMPS!!!!

Don't like any of the new talent. The real country singers have been left by the wayside. How about classic country?George Jones, willie Nelson AND etc?And sometimes these guys try the modern stuff. No need to try and fool anyone. if country ,then stay country.Maybe give this new ugly stuff another name and quit shameing real country.

Sometimes she reminds me of Peter Brady from the Brady Bunch. Did u hear the girls singing 15 with Taylor? It is like they scream the lyrics. She has a strain about her voice that might go away with maturity. Have any of you ever heard Faith Hill live in her early years. Those beautiful high notes you hear on her albums are hit and miss. Taylor will come into her own. She does not have the level of sound LeeAnn Rimes had at an early age, that is for sure.
