Carrie Underwood and actress Nicole Kidman are among the celebrities scheduled to appear on 'CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute,' airing Thanksgiving night on CNN.Carrie and Grammy-nominated pop singer Leona Lewis will perform at the gala, held at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. The network is celebrating its third year of honoring everyday people making a difference. Other celebrities scheduled to appear include Kate Hudson, Neil Patrick Harris, Pierce Brosnan, Dwayne Johnson, Eva Mendes and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
The star-studded gala will be hosted CNN's Anderson Cooper and will be seen around the world on Nov. 26 beginning at 9:00 PM (ET/PT) on CNN's global networks. Spotlighting the accomplishments of the Top 10 CNN Heroes, selected by a distinguished panel, each of this year's honorees will receive $25,000 in recognition of their work. The 2009 CNN Hero of the Year, revealed at the end of the special, will receive an additional $100,000.
Voting to select the Hero of the Year is being conducted through an online poll at CNN.com/Heroes, ending Nov. 19.
