Before Carrie Underwood met Mike Fisher, she envisioned dating a local boy with all his original teeth. US Weekly reports that Carrie confesses on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday (Nov. 18) that when she was set up with the Ottawa Senators hockey player by a member of her band, Mike didn't exactly fit the bill.
"He was like, 'I have this guy for you,'" Carrie recalls of the conversation with her band member. "I was like, 'Oh, that's great! What does he do?'"
When Carrie learned that Mike plays hockey, she asked, "Does he have his own teeth?" "'No, but he's got his really good dentist!,'" came the reply!
Then, upon learning that he lives in Canada, Carrie said,"I love Canada. But that is a long distance relationship."
And although they don't appear together in public too often, Carrie says that the couple, together now for over a year "see each other more than people think we see each other. We just do our thing."
Carrie, whose boyfriends past include football player Tony Romo and actor Chace Crawford, says, no doubt about it, this one with Mike Fisher is "the longest relationship I've had. I joke and say my dogs are the longest relationship ever."
But as the singer recently stated on her website, the couple will not be moving in together.
"Call me old fashioned," she says. "The next guy I move in with will be my hubby. Who ever that is. I'm not saying it's going to be him."
Ellen, however, predicted the couple will marry and start a family -- to which Carrie replied, "Apparently. I don't know."
