Jack White to Produce New Wanda Jackson Project

Jack White and Wanda JacksonRock musician Jack White of the White Stripes and the Raconteurs is once again dabbling in the world of country music, this time producing the Queen of Rockabilly Wanda Jackson's forthcoming L.P. In 2004, Jack produced and played on country legend Loretta Lynn's critically acclaimed album, 'Van Lear Rose,' which made Wanda sit up and take notice of Jack's talent.

"[He's] one of the biggest stars on the planet right now," Wanda tells The Oklahoman. "[Loretta and Jack] had a super album, but he didn't have her do anything different -- she just did her little Loretta Lynn songs. But he told me he's gonna stretch me some, so we'll see!"

This project will not be Wanda's first collaboration with other new-generation rockers. In recent years, the 72-year-old has worked with the likes of Dave Alvin, The Cramps, Rosie Flores, Lee Rocker, Cadillac Angels and Elvis Costello.

Wanda was introduced to Jack through her website manager, Jon Hensley, after learning that Jack was a "big fan" of hers.
