Carrie Underwood has a little advice for recent finalists from her musical alma mater 'American Idol' -- dance with the one that brought ya! The superstar says she finds it strange that contestants will change their musical style upon leaving the show, especially since fans -- through their votes -- tell them exactly what they want to hear from them.
"I feel like any contestant that ... that does well on 'Idol' has to stay true to what people voted for," Carrie tells Reuters News Service. "I've seen it happen a few times where people are one thing on the show, and then they get off the show and try to do something else."
Idol champion Kris Allen and runner-up Adam Lambert are both releasing albums this month, while third-place finisher Danny Gokey is set to release a country CD early next year.
Carrie has stated she's a fan of both Kris and Danny. She'll be joined by 2008 'Idol' winner David Cook on her upcoming holiday special, set to air Dec. 7 on FOX.

Interesting, I like Carrie Underwood very talented, However this article states she is a big fan of Kris and David, However it makes no mention of Adam,
either she hates his style of music or she is HOMOPHOBIC,

It doesn't mean she's Homophobic because she didn't put Adam's name in there. She just might not be a fan of his music. It's her choice. For all his hiding and misdirecting answers during the season, he's well within his right to be himself now. Sad, but I do feel the reason Adam didn't win was because a large part of the United States still fear Gay people. Adam's an amazing singer, a creative performer, and he'll do great, but I can see him already making a great career doing live stage performances like musicals or stage plays with songs written in. He'll KILL there, and will still have an amazingly large following. Obviously, it won't be Carrie. She's a great example of how good an "Idol" Alum can be, but her likes and dislikes are hers, not everyones. Doesn't make her homophobic, just an American. Freedom of choice? Remember? Look it up.

She can't name every single musician. There's also a chance they didn't ask about him so she didn't say anything. It depends on the interviewer's questions and then on how the journalist quotes her. People get miss-quoted all the time. Keep in mind Carrie didn't write this article, some guy who has no idea what she is like in person did.

Just because she doesn't mention Adam doesn't mean she is homophobic. It may be she just doesn't care for him as a person. She may know him personally at this point, we don't know. Or it just may be she doesn't care for his music or his style. Rock on Carrie. Personally, I don't care that much for his style either.

I agree ...I think it was dissing lambert.....he is the most talented of all of them.....country music is not for everyone ...I can only listen to some of them but I usually change stations when I am in a car....the article might of just been edited by the boot.....too bad..

How about this, maybe she just didn't have time to list absolutely every last person whose singing ability she admires. Why is it that you would go into labeling her as a homophobe. You are being just as judgmental as you are accusing her of being.

I did not label her as a homophobe just either she does not like his music or she may be a homophobe.
she is Christian so that does come into play as well.
Kris and Danny are Christian as well. I like Carrie,
I have read several articles on Carrie and she is moving to being very vocal about many things and I would hate for her to adopt a DIVA attitude.

Huh...interesting she mentions she's a fan of Danny who didn't go country until he signed a record contract. Since she mentions everyone except Adam, one can only assume that is who she's talking about. Kinda rude Carrie. Compare the record sales of Kris and Adam. I think the fans have spoken and they're going with Adam.

I could not stand Adam. It had nothing to do with him being gay. I love the music of Elton John and Freddy Mercury and and many others who have great songs and voices. For me, it was the screaming. Adam screamed like he doing a bad heavy metal singer impersonation while jumping out of an airplane. I did really enjoy his version of "Mad World." He just sang. He didn't scream. Maybe Carrie couldn't stand his screaming either.
