Taylor Swift Gives Time and Money to Kids in Need

When Taylor Swift took the mic to thank fans for her sweep of five American Music Awards Sunday night on national TV, it was via satellite from London. Some may have wondered why Taylor didn't choose to be present in Los Angeles, on what would surely be a most unforgettable night for her. But Taylor's reason for being in in the U.K., instead of getting glammed up for the AMA stage, was to appear instead on a very different stage.

Taylor was across the pond to make a special performance at the BBC's Children in Need fundraiser. The televised event also saw performances from Sir Paul McCartney and British boy band, Take That. Taylor performed 'Love Story,' before making a donation right out of her own pocket of 13,000 pounds (in honor of her lucky number, 13), which is the equivalent of about $20,800 American dollars.

I don't get some of you. Yes, she makes a lot of money. But at least she took some of it and gave it to a good cause. She gave something and shes only 19. That's all that counts.

Why do people have to be so negative?!! I am sure that Taylor Swift gave from the heart and that's what counts! Who is to judge how much she has and how much she gave? What's important is that she helped people in need-in this case children-who can knock that?! I didn't hear anything from her about giving away HER money-I bet she didn't take a tax write-off for it either! Good for you Taylor-you've got a kind heart-never mind the critics!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To everyone who's called Taylor cheap, how much have YOU given? One fewer case of cheap-assed beer, or a carton of cigs? Shut yo' mouf until you have something to contribute.

I can't stand Taylor Swift. Glad she did something good, but She can't sing and I probably won't be watching any more awards any time soon.

20K?... Should be more like 200k. Her endorsements alone will total 1/2 a billion. I expected more. I think she worked hard and deserves her success.. no doubt... but it should have another zero. Period.

She gave up her night to do a show overseas and gave money on top of that. How much did you negative bastards give to those kids?
