Gary Allan embarked on his 'Getting Off on the Pain' tour a few weeks ago, with openers Jack Ingram and the Eli Young Band. We asked Gary what he "gets off on" when it comes to music. "It's always performing for me," the California native tells The Boot. "I write and I record so I can perform. It all ties to that. I've done it since I was a little kid. That's my absolute rush is playing for different people every night, bringing something else to the table they've never seen."The rush Gary feels when he's performing is due to what he can move people to do with his songs. "You can make 'em laugh, you can make 'em cry, you can piss 'em off -- you have so much control with music. You're talking to them. It's basically telling stories."
Gary is currently making his fans feel with his new single, 'Today,' which is currently climbing the country charts.
