Whitney Duncan can count her fans as some of the most generous this holiday season. Jenna Tanner, Alyssa Geller and Lisa Guercio, who run Whitney's Twitter fan page (@WhitDuncanFans), have started a promotion called "10 Until 10," in an effort to not just promote their favorite new artist, but also to give back to the Country Music Cares Christmas Kids charity. The generous ladies have promised to donate $.10 to the charity for every new follower at @WhitDuncanFans from now through Dec. 10.
When word got out about this clever act of kindness, it didn't take long for other Twitter Fan pages to jump in and volunteer their time and money. Fans and organizers of several other celebrity Twitter pages will also be donating $.10 per follower: Blake Shelton (@BSersTweet), Joe Nichols (@JNRealThings), Josh Thompson (@TeamJThompson), Jason Michael Carroll (@JMCs_Place), Keith Urban (@ku_fans), Dierks Bentley (@dierksfans) and Justin Moore (@Justin_Jammers).
The Country Music Cares charity was started 10 years ago by two fans who recognized a need to help support underprivileged children in the Paducah, Ky. area. Last year alone, they were able to provide presents for over 100 children and raised $15,000.
