Dolly Parton is almost as famous for her tiny waist as she is for her ... well, other physical assets. The music icon says she has to work at staying thin."I've been every size in the world in my life time, but I've got my weight pretty much where I want it now," Dolly tells GAC. "I'm just a little more conscious of it these days."
Dolly says she sticks to a high-energy lifestyle and a low-carb diet. And she surely burns a lot of calories during her live shows.
"I just have a natural energy of my own because I certainly don't dance, and I'm not great with choreographers. I'm not real big on exercise," Dolly admits. "I'd rather think and write and all that, but I do have to watch what I eat, especially the older I get. I'm a short, little person so I have to really kind of watch the amounts that I eat."
Dolly says one of her biggest fears is not being able to fit into one of her form-fitting dresses that have become her trademark onstage.
"I do have to watch what I eat in order to stay in those costumes, because you can't be overseas and very well find somebody there in that town who can adjust your clothes with all those beads and rhinestones!" she says with laughter. "You have to say, 'I can't eat that because I've got to get in that dress tomorrow!'"

Dolly is surely a treasure. She is an East Tennessee girl through and through. Its always great to be able to watch a true hall of famer while still in the active stages of their career. Love you Dolly; you go Sevier County girl!

I've always loved Dolly, however I think she looked better back in the 70's-80's when she had more meat on her bones, more curves. I don't care for the emaciated look...I'm just saying!

Dolly Parton is a class act. She has done a lot of good for Sevier County and supports a lot of charities. She donated Dollywood one day passes to the family and donor (gave 5 times in a year) for Medic's Platelet Donors. Thanks to her kindness we were able to take our kids to a wonderful day out including lunch on her. Though she was not there personally, her staff at Dollywood treated us all like family and her gift was sincerely appreciated. Giving Blood and platelets is our way of giving back, and the reward, year after year is knowing we are helping people in need. But that year we got a huge and unexpected Thank You from a Lady who owed us nothing was a true treasured memory.
We love her for her heart and her giving and generous nature, she is an inspiration.

Honey, Dolly is the first to admit about her plastic surgery. She surely doesn't say her assets are all real, however I believe her waist line is.

She use to swear by pasta for staying thin. She always claimed tto have a size 18" waist even when she had extra weight. It looked small so I would have to say she wore a sweat band or some thing for long periods of time. Japaneese had a practice of binding the womens feet starting when they were little.
