Montgomery Gentry, Chris Young, Trent Willmon and Wade Hayes were among the acts who helped raise $80,000 with the first annual Country on the Beach event to benefit the T.J. Martell Foundation. The four-day extravaganza was held at the Beach Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico -- a nice break for the singers who were able to bask in the sunshine while temperatures back home were just above freezing!
An all-inclusive guest package featured tours, snorkeling and swimming with the dolphins, along with other water activities, while each evening was capped off with a concert.
"It was a great group to hang with," Trent tells The Boot. "Most of the people there have been affected in some way by cancer. It was a lot of fun, but also a very serious cause."
The T.J. Martell Foundation funds ground-breaking research in leukemia, cancer and AIDS at six top research hospitals in the United States.
