Garth Brooks is suing the Integris Canadian Valley Regional hospital in his hometown of Yukon, Okla. According to Tulsa's KOTV, the entertainer is alleging breach of contract, and seeks the return of an anonymous $500,000 donation.Garth, who made the donation four years ago, says the hospital promised to build a Living Center which would have the name of his late mother, Colleen, on it. Garth's mom passed away in 1999 after a long battle with cancer. The center in her honor has yet to be built.
The hospital's official website notes that they are undergoing a "major expansion project."

As a fellow Okie and someone who has had the displeasure of using Integris, I must say bravo Garth. I hope that someone would investigate their crooked azzes. I broke my leg in 6 places and could not find my insurance info. So they put me in a splint and sent me home, the next day I went to OU medical and they had to do immediate surgery. F@CK Integris, and I am glad I could not find my insurance card, they don't need my money.

is it really a donation if there are stipulations on it. it is more of a bragging thing. i give money to the church and has no questions becuase i trust the pastor and have faith. if i give money to the salavation army i dont require something. garth has to much cash to big of ego and this is just plain rich epople being rich people. he disgraced his mother.

It's not bragging if you donate the money for a specific purpose. Say, you donante money for cancer research and they build a new birthing center instead. They were supposed to build a living center. That didn't happen.

I guess it just goes to show no matter what you do somebody can find fault. The hospital will have a cancer unit that they wouldn't have been able to have if it wasn't for his donation. It was anonymous, until they didn't keep up their end of the bargain. Give to your church, salvation army. God honors it all. His mother would be very proud. What church teaches such bitterness towards others?

Thank you Garth for exposing these so called Hospitals who beg for funds~~that go in the administration's pockets. You were very gracious to select them to honor your precious mother and they have defrauded you. I am disappointed that it was not much more to offset your grief over this. You are a very generous man. I have worked for charities and could tell you stories to make your blood boil~~ The Big Dogs gets 90%--charity gets 10% if lucky..

It was a donation for a specific purpose so yes he should have sued. I bet that hospital already spent that money on something else. The hospital where I work Texoma Medical Center in Denison Texas is a proud recipient donor of Reba McEntire and she has donated tons of money for many things for our hospital which every cent has gone for the betterment of our hospital.
