George Jones Opening His Home for the Holiday

George JonesGeorge Jones and his wife Nancy are well-known around Music City for brightening up the holiday season with a dazzling display of Christmas lights and decorations on their farm just south of Nashville. But this year the couple will help light up the faces of needy children by opening their home to the public.

On Friday, Dec. 18, from 6-8 PM, the Jones family will welcome visitors and will host a visit from Santa Claus himself. Each year George and Nancy look for a way to give back to the local community, and this year they've reached out to the Give Hope project of the People's Church to help take donations of toys to distribute to less fortunate families throughout middle Tennessee.

Admission is free, but the donation of an unwrapped toy is requested.

George Jones will ALWAYS BE THE KING OF COUNTRY MUSIC. They could put a loaded 357 to my head, and I'd still say JONES IS THE KING!!!I met him once, and he is the most decent and humble man you could ever imagine. He took the time for photographs, and he is just an awesome person. I think the reason many of his songs are so popular, is because he truly sings from the heart. You know he has had a sad life, and a happy life. You know he has lived life to the fullest.

Good for you George! I am glad he's finally straightened up his life. I'm glad he and his wife are giving of themselves. Good example to the rest of "stardom's people" and to me too.

I just love George. Loved him young, loved him drinking, love him old. He was always a good man, just needed a good woman.
