It's been eight years since Garth Brooks released 'Scarecrow,' his last full album of new material, but that doesn't mean he hasn't kept up with what's going on at country radio.Garth, who is officially out of retirement after kicking off a five-year stint at the Wynn Las Vegas Dec. 11, says there were a number of songs he heard during his hiatus that he wished he'd gotten his hands on.
Tops on his list? Brad Paisley's 'Waitin' on a Woman.' "Fabulous lyric. I love it," Garth tells The Boot. Garth liked a number of other songs that wouldn't have been right for him to record, but 'Woman' hit his sweet spot. "That one really got to me," he says.
Garth says there will likely be no live CD from his Wynn shows, but he expects that playing regularly again will get his songwriting juices flowing: "This is definitely going to open me up to writing again."
