Kris Kristofferson, Rosanne Cash and Elvis Costello are among those featured in the cast of a new musical to debut next year, and the production is the brainchild of a pair of unlikely collaborators. Contact Music reports that 'Ghost Brothers of Darkland County,' by musician John Mellencamp and author Stephen King, will debut in Atlanta in September 2010. The stage show, which the pair have been working on for the past decade, is described as "a sultry Southern Gothic mystery with a blues-tinged, guitar-driven score." It's the story of the death of two brothers and a young girl and the legend that grows out of the tragedy.
Singer Sheryl Crow and legendary boxer Joe Frazier are also reported to be participating in the musical.
