Taylor Swift Still Struggles With Self-Esteem

Taylor SwiftTaylor Swift might seem to have it all -- successful career, worldwide fame, huge bank account -- but she admits she still battles insecurity.

"I definitely have body issues, but everybody does," she tells MSN. "When you come to the realization that everybody does that -- even the people that I consider flawless -- then you can start to live with the way you are. I've read interviews with some of the most beautiful women who have insecurities. And you look at them and you're like, 'How do you have? Name one thing wrong with yourself,' and they could name a handful."

But even though the 20-year old admits she doesn't always love herself, she also says she hopes her self-esteem improves over time. "I don't really want to be that way," she acknowledges. "I'd like to try to maintain confidence and stay OK with who I am because I don't really want to change it. Everybody has insecurities -- everybody -- but hopefully you can overcome them."

Taylor, who just won the People's Choice Award for Favorite Female Artist, is also nominated for eight Grammys. Recently named Billboard's 2009 Artist of the Year, her record-breaking Fearless tour continues in 2010, along with opening acts Kellie Pickler and Gloriana.

Taylor Swift is beautiful, she is a great role model and is friends with many people in country music. I read somewhere that she is acctually involved int eh business process of the industry, not just the entertainment. She is not an airhead, she must be doing something right to be as successful as she is. I love Taylor and her music and she is one of the most humble stars out there. I went to her concert and she stoped to hug every single fan that she could reach, it took almost 10 minutes for her to get throught the crowd because of that. Stop saying bad thigs about her, I wont mention names (Holly) but just shut up.

All the haters from the Carrie fan sites are out in full force, I see.

Get a life, people.

You're right Taylor. Many women (and men too) have body issues. The harshness on this thread is, in part, evidence of that insecurity. You're beautiful inside and out. Thank You for being so honest about your feelings and reminding us all to be kinder to ourselves and others.

yes freedom of speech is one thing but so is online bullying. so please don't comment to a bully. everyone has things about them that we don't like, and some of them others admire. example the whole argument of curly hair verses straight hair or tall vs short. we all are beautiful. even if we don't like the way someone looks to our own taste we can find something we do like if we take the time and respect to look.

Holly sounds jealous and fat. Taylor is beautiful inside and out. She is talented and a good role model. We need more people like her in the celeb world.

She may be a nice girl, but she is not a great Singer if you listen to her live stuff. In the Studio,we can use all kinds of tricks to make someone sound good. She is a Club Band Singer at best, and I really don't understand the Awards and hype over her. So many others like Carrie Underwood can sing rings around her on their worst day. It is like the Rappers who make a fortune but can't sing and are not talented. Unfortunately, the Music Industry can often be bought and paid for! And like most careers, some EARN what they have while others don't.

Hey Holly: I think the law states that you have to protect your copyright in all places or else you run the risk of losing it. So, while it may not seem to matter that some small club is playing Taylor's song without authorization, it really does according to the law. Don't make it out like it is a character flaw of Taylor's.

She is a pretty girl but the dresses they keep putting her in at the awards show are not right for her. She is only twenty and doesnt have a lot of curves yet. The dresses she wears are for more curvasious women. She should be wearing something that enhances what she has.
