Charlie Daniels Recovering After Mild Stroke

Grand Ole Opry member Charlie Daniels suffered a mild stroke while snowmobiling in Colorado on Friday, Jan. 15. He was treated at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango, Colo., then airlifted to Swedish Medical Center in Denver.

The legendary musician was released from Swedish Medical Center on Sunday, Jan. 17 and returned to his home in Colorado, where he has been on vacation since Dec. 27.

According to his spokesperson, there are no plans to cancel any concert dates.

Charlie is doing well and looking forward to beginning the Charlie Daniels Band 2010 concert dates on Feb. 27 in Ft. Pierce, Fla. and Feb. 28 in Brooksville, Fla.

The Boot sends best wishes to Charlie for a speedy recovery.

I had a mild stroke, too, at age 46. Of course, that was after a brain aneurysm & vaso spasms...the treatment caused the stroke, but I'm ALIVE!!! I hope Charlie Daniels is well & good & his fiddle playing isn't affected. I can just type w/ my right hand, but my left is getting better all the time (almost 2 years since it happened)I'm correting the typos as I go, but I'm using my left hand. I hope Charlie keeps on keepin' on...I've enjoyed his music for many, many years & God willing, for many years to come. God speed, Charlie!!!

I don't know how many years this gentleman has entertained so many people, but God love him for sharing his talent and bless him for hanging in there for as many years and fans he has.

So does this make Charley an "Uneasy Rider?" Will Charley stop doing dumb comercials? I don't wish him any ill, but when it's time to retire and take care of yourself, it's time......and it's time is now. That's how it's done son.....and get your fingers off my bread sticks, go back to your table and let the rest of us enjoy some classical violin.

Do you really think Charlie has fans that know the difference between a fiddle and a violin?

I have loved Charlie Daniels' music since the 70's. I saw him at the WV State Fair and he put on one of the best shows I have ever seen. He is a caring and giving human being and always gives to charity. Godspeed on your recovery Mr. Daniels!!!
