Loretta Lynn Added to Lilith Fair 2010 Tour

Country music legend Loretta Lynn has added to the recently announced lineup for Lilith Fair 2010. Billboard reports that the revived music festival spotlighting female acts in all musical genres, will also add 15 cities to the already announced tour stops.

"I'm happy they wanted me on this Lilith tour," says Loretta. "I have never done shows just with other girl singers before. When I first started out, they said girl singers couldn't sell records or concert tickets. We've come a long way since then and we're gonna have a big time out there!"

Country acts previously announced to be participating in the tour include Miranda Lambert, Emmylou Harris and Sugarland. A Nashville date has been added to the touring fest, which is returning after an 11-year hiatus. Lilith Fair was created by Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan and originally ran from 1997 to 1999.

The concerts raised millions of dollars for numerous charities.

These cities have been announced for first leg of the tour, although concert dates have not been confirmed.

Words can hardly express how much love and R E S P E C T I've always had for this shining shimmering sould. Loretta Lynn in my humble opinion is representative of everything country and USA. Hey, I'm not supposed to be all mush absout a lady whose political and even religious beliefs are as different from my own as can be. But where Loretta Lynn is concerned I'd walk on glass, swim through storms, and confront dragons just for her. Let no one ever say a disparaging word whAr Mz Lynn is concerned within my hearing or I'll give 'em a real whoppin>Ms. Lorretta Lynn=penultimate best!

I saw Loretta Lynn in concert 2 years ago in a smaller venue in Red Bank, NJ. It was like the queen and her court. She came out in this voluminous sparkly red gown, sat down in a gold chair in the middle of the stage and announced "What do y'all wanna hear - you call em out and I'll sing em". And she did. She stood at the end of the concert when she sang a Gospel medley. I only wished she would have told more stories about her life.

yes, she is definitely old school regal, real, dignified, loving her music and her fans, and we love her back. if she sings it, she's probably lived it....god bless her...

I had no clue Loretta Lynn was still among the living and performing until about six years ago until I heard her dueting Portland Oregon with some other guy. I think it's cool that she's still in the rat race of country music. Keep going, Ms. Lynn! =-)

That guy is Jack White, of the White Stripes, they did an album together, VAN LEAR ROSE, truly a wonderful piece of work, if you haven't heard it, you should treat yourself, you'llbe glad you did.
