Carrie Underwood may be engaged to hockey player Mike Fisher, but she is about to become a football fan -- at least for one day. The Grammy-nominated singer was recently tapped to perform the national anthem at this year's Super Bowl. The Feb. 7 game, pitting the New Orleans Saints against the Indianapolis Colts, will be held in Miami. In addition to Carrie's performance, Queen Latifah will sing 'America the Beautiful,' and legendary band The Who will perform at halftime.
Other singers who have sung "The Star-Spangled Banner" before a Super Bowl game include fellow country artists Garth Brooks, Faith Hill and the Dixie Chicks, as well as Billy Joel, Whitney Houston, Harry Connick, Jr., Beyonce and many others.
Super Bowl XLIV will air live on CBS. Carrie, by the way, does have a football player in her past. She put on a football uniform in this video for 'All American Girl.'
