George Strait issued a statement today through his publicist, saying that this weekend's scheduled shows with Reba McEntire and special guest Lee Ann Womack are being postponed, due to the threat of severe winter weather."Due to our concern for the safety of our fans and crew, we are rescheduling shows this weekend," George said. "We regret the change but it's best to take all the necessary precautions."
Friday night's (Jan. 29) show at the Thompson Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tenn. (where forecasters are predicting six inches or more of snow on top of freezing rain) has been rescheduled for April 2. Saturday night's (Jan. 30) show in Charlottesville,Va., at the JPJ Arena, will now take place on April 3.
The tour kicked off last Friday, Jan. 22, in Baltimore and is currently slated to run through April 10.

I agree with Brad. I have tickets to see them in Knoxville and have been watching the forecast all week. I appreciated their consideration greatly. I have been a huge fan of both for years, and now an even bigger one.

Even though I'm really disappointed, I'm glad the show was rescheduled. I've been stressing for days over this weather situation in Knoxville. Now ... if the weather does what it does sometimes here and the snow misses us, I really will be disappointed.
