Last fall, Taylor Swift surprised the crowd at the We're All for the Hall benefit hosted by Keith Urban, by announcing she would be donating the guitar she used during that night's performance with that night for an auction to benefit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Since Taylor's lucky number is 13, and 13 is featured prominently on the guitar, the auction will get underway on Saturday, Feb. 13, and will run for -- you guessed it -- 13 days, concluding on Feb. 26. To place a bid, just visit www.countrymusichalloffame.org and click on "Auction."
The acoustic Taylor 12-string guitar, model 655ce and serial number 20090129113, was made in 2009. It has a cutaway 17-inch-wide body, spruce top with natural finish, maple neck, back and sides with amber stained finish, white bindings on the neck and body edges, ebony fingerboard with pearl inlay, Taylor pearl logo on the peghead, ebony bridge, tortoiseshell grain plastic pick-guard, factory installed electronics and original hard shell case. It is autographed by Taylor, and will be on display in the Hall of Fame's Museum Store while the auction is going on duration, so that any interested bidders who are in Nashville can get a closer look while the auction is taking place.
And in case you're wondering, there are no teardrops on this guitar.
