Lady Antebellum Lead ACM Nominations

Lady AntebellumNominations were announced today for the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, and the name heard more than anyone else was Lady Antebellum. The country trio lead the pack with seven ACM nods this year, as they are up for Top Vocal Group, Album of the Year, Single, Song and Video of the Year. They were also nominated as producers for Single and composers for Song of the Year, both for their chart-topping, crossover smash, 'Need You Now.'

Following Lady Antebellum are Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood, who each have six nominations. Carrie is the ACM's reigning Entertainer of the Year. She'll compete for that coveted title again this year alongside Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, George Strait, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and the Zac Brown Band. For the third year in a row, fans will be the ones who determine the winner of this category, the night's biggest award. The newcomer categories -- Top New Solo Vocalist, Top New Vocal Group and Top New Vocal Duo -- will also be determined by the fans in an online vote, available here.

Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton read the nods live Tuesday on CBS' 'The Early Show.' The two heard their own names called, as Reba is up for Top Female Vocalist, and Blake scored a nod for Vocal Event of the Year. Reba will return for the 12th year to host the broadcast, which airs live from Las Vegas on April 18.

I know I'm going to tick people off, but I am sick of Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift. They are NOT country. Let a real country artist win the big awards this year. I will throw brick through my TV if Swift gets best female vocalist. She can't carry a tune.

I agree, it not just those two, there are alot of these new singers that should be put in a class of thier own, "Pop or Rock Country". Has anyone ever seen Bill Anderson, Charlie Pride, Connie Smith, Loretta Lynn, Porter Wagner, George Jones, Alan Jackson just to name a few, get up on stage and perform bobbing thier heads and throwing thier hair all around, or made a violent or sexual exploited video? When watching the country channels and they have this junk on I have to switch my channel, can't stans it and never will accept it. Give me the TRUE COUNTRY.

Everyone is entiltled to an opinion...I love Carrie...she has really come along way and is an amazing performer. I feel she is as country as most of the other big name female vocalists...Reba, Martina, Trisha...I have seen all of them live in Nashville and in concerts....On the other hand...Taylor Swift, is not only not country, she has no real singing voice and I cant understand how she got where she is...oddly enough I may take flack for stating I don't think Faith Hill is country either and after seeing her live in Nashville last year feel she can't sing either!
