Laura Bell Bundy is a Tony Award-nominated actress who's moved from Broadway to get her country music career 'Giddy On Up' and going. Fans will get that catchy single and more when the album, 'Achin' and Shakin,' drops April 13.'Giddy On Up,' an upbeat comeuppance directed toward a cheating lover, has already sold more than 30,000 singles and been streamed almost one million times in a month, according to Laura's label, Mercury Nashville.
The album itself is actually two concept discs with a single vision. 'Achin'' is a selection of slow and sultry country songs, while 'Shakin'' is filled with sassy, contemporary tunes. Think Loretta Lynn and Minnie Pearl meets Norah Jones and 'Sex and the City.' All of the tunes except one on 'Achin' and Shakin'' were penned by Laura.
"Two records, one woman is my motto," says the singer. "I have a crazy, wild, humorous, outspoken personality and then I have a depth that only opens up when I'm alone or with one other person, and that is captured with this album. I really couldn't do one without the other."
