Blake Shelton makes an impressive debut at the No. 2 spot on Billboard's Country Albums chart this week, selling nearly 71,000 copies of 'Hillbilly Bone,' which contains just six tracks. The album is the subject of a new marketing strategy by Warner Bros. Nashville, Blake's label, appropriately dubbed a 'SIX PAK.' Seems like the idea worked -- the disc bows at No. 3 on the multi-genre Billboard 200 this week as well. Still, Blake's healthy total wasn't enough to hold off that three-pack Lady Antebellum from the top spot on the country chart for yet another big week. With 125,000 copies sold this week (a six-percent -- there's that number again! -- increase over last week), Lady A now has the No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. 'Need You Now' is also the year's top-selling album in all genres so far.
Other new albums making their chart debuts this week:
Danny Gokey's 'My Best Days,' bows in the No. 3 spot on the country album chart, (No. 4 on the Billboard 200), with 65,000 copies sold.
Easton Corbin sold 43,000 copies of his self-titled debut, 'Easton Corbin,' and comes in at No. 4 on the country album chart. That's the highest debut for a male artist on the Universal Music Nashville label in seven years.
