Keith Urban has announced that 2009 'American Idol' winner Kris Allen will be the opening act on several of Keith's 2010 tour dates. The first chance to catch Kris on the tour will be at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on April 23.
Additionally, Kris will open Keith's upcoming shows at the California Mid State Fair in Paso Robles, Calif. (July 28), the Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis (Aug. 14), the Great Allentown Fair in Allentown, Pa. (Sept. 3) and the Champlain Valley Fair in Essex Junction, Vt. (Sept. 4).
During the 'American Idol' season finale last May, Keith and Kris shared the stage for a duet of Keith's 'Kiss a Girl.'

are you really an ex-idol if you won the show? Shouldn't the headline be former idol?
Charlieat 3-10-2010
Wow! This is a great combination! I love both these guys!
justbruce7at 3-10-2010
Actually, if we are being specific, he's the CURRENT Idol....

I wish this site did not have the down button first. I always end up hitting it when I mean to hit the up. lol
Anyway, I agree that he is the Current Idol, definitely not the Ex-Idol.

This is a great combination - two beautiful guys - two wonderful musicians. So glad Keith is giving Kris this opportunity. Kris' single "Live Like We're Dying" just went platinum today, the first platinum recording from season 8, so there's a lot to celebrate among Kris fans.

This is a continuation of the disrespect that Kris Allen's been dealt since he WON American Idol last year. Bottom line. America VOTED for him to win over Adam Lambert, but because Lambert was so outgoing, and is an amazing singer, Kris has been treated as the red-headed step child of Idol. Good for Keith Urban to spot a talent, and invite him on tour..

I don't get where the disrespect comes in. What's the problem? He's touring. With Keith Urban. The boy has a fans, he has a good voice. This is a good thing. What, again, is the problem?

Awesome, love both of them!!!

all idols are x-idols...I get it....I am not a big fan of his singing ...but he is a nice guy.

keith's opening act for a couple of dates? WOW, I mean BIG TIME!!! what was his name again?
campbellb777at 3-10-2010
Like most of today's acts, Keith Urban is a store bought musician that says absolutely nothing with his music! Music Row here in Nashville is not signing real musicians that can really sing and play because then the music is in the hands of the musician and not the record company. If the record companies sign no talent people(as they have been doing), well then the record label can tell the person what to sing and what to play! The result-- stupid songs with absolutely no feeling or emotion whatsoever.

To Campbellb77-I don't know what you're smokin', because Keith Urban is one of the best musicians in music today. I saw him in concert, and he was awesome! He isn't some overnight sensation. He has been perfecting his craft for most of his life. He writes great songs, and can cover songs by anybody, and make them sound as good as the original! Have you ever really listened to him?

Definitely don't know what you are smokin cambellb777. Have you EVER seen Keith perform LIVE??!! He is absolutely incredibly talented and amazing to listen to and watch. He puts his crowd of fans first at a concert. You must be an idiot...plus, Keith has worked hard to get where he is.
As far as Kris Allen joining Keith on tour, that is an honor and privelege Kris has earned, and rightly so. Keith sees the talent in Kris and put him where MILLIONS Of people will be able to see and hear it first hand.
