Trisha Yearwood Reveals Garth's Gift for Experimental Cuisine

Trisha Yearwood's love of home cooking keeps her busy in the kitchen, and also keeps the singer on bookstore shelves. She's set to release 'Home Cooking With Trisha Yearwood,' the follow-up to 2008's 'Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Home,' the title of which reflects both her upbringing and the place she now shares around the dinner table with husband Garth Brooks and his three daughters from his previous marriage.

In the April issue of Redbook magazine, which hits newsstands March 23, Trisha shares a bit of Garth's less than stellar past in the kitchen.

"He jokes how, when he first got divorced and moved to Oklahoma and had the girls every other day, the three of them ate a lot of boxed macaroni and cheese and chicken tenders," she says. These days, however, Trisha notes, the superstar seems as comfortable in the kitchen as he does on stage. "He is really an experimental cook. He came up with this breakfast bowl, but it's not really a recipe. It's more like a bunch of really great things thrown into a bowl."

Trisha also reveals her culinary guilty pleasure, confessing, "I love cheese and I love cheese in everything. Macaroni and cheese is probably one of my favorite things in the world. I don't care if it's from a box or a school cafeteria."

Trisha's new cookbook even includes "a Crock-Pot recipe for mac and cheese that is one of the best things in the whole world. I can't make it that often, because I will eat the entire thing. But my motto's always been, Everything in moderation – including moderation."

And when it comes time for the family to sit down to a meal together, Trisha says they try make sure there are no distractions. "Having dinner together is something Garth and I have worked at making sure we do, because it's too easy these days not to. Everyone has their own agenda and is going in a million different directions. So for us, it's become, 'Now we're all going to sit down and the cells are going to be turned off and there are not going to be any iPods playing into anyone's ears. It's time for family. And even if at first the girls are like, 'Really?' we end up having the best time."

'Home Cooking With Trisha Yearwood' will be available on April 6.

My husband and I wish Garth & Tricia a wonderful married life together. You can't please all the people all the time and for those who speak sour words, well they are probabably jealous! We remember when Garth came to Port Saint Lucie, Mets field. People waited to get his autograph and pictures with him. He made sure everyone had their turn. We have wonderful pictures with him and spoke to each other about our Mom's. He was kind and personable. How could anyone say anything naughty about him?????????

As if anyone here is free of mistakes that they have the right to judge other people. I can tell you for certain, those kids are WELL cared for, and no one is a more active Father. Why not find something better to do than focusing on other people's family issues because then you'd have to focus on your OWN issues. Grow up people!!

We have a friend who I cannot say, but is high up at the Grand Ole Opry (SP?) who broke their story to us at Thanksgiving one year. This was well over a year before the whole story broke to the public. Yes, they were BOTH cheating on their spouses... INCLUDING Trisha!

I will have to look for your new cookbook I love mac & cheese tooooo. We seen you and Garth in Vegas on Feb. 27th it was a B-Day present for me. From my husband I am a huge Garth fan I thought you sounded awesome. You just make it look so effortless. You really do have a beautiful voice. I can't wait until the next time we get to see and hear the two of you.

To McKenz and Northern Starr... Sandy lives in a home with her husband ON Garth's property not far from the home they share the girls... Sandy was not shoved out into the cold, Sandy and Garth are still great friends... you need to read the latest Biography that is out on Garth, you'll learn things...

I think it's sad that people have to post hypocritical and mean things about Garth and Trisha's personal lives. His marriage didn't work out. It happens. He did not cheat on Sandy. He took care of his business, then took his friendship with Trisha to the next level. They're happy - and you're jealous. Just admit it, and leave them alone.

YOU do NOT know this for sure. BUT I do agree with you on one point she DOES have a fat ass and so is the rest of her AND Garth and If she does not stop all this cooking and start eating right she and Garth will BOTH end up dead or with strokes or heart attacks.
