Jo Dee Messina is gearing up for her own 'Unmistakable' triple play! The singer is releasing a trio of recordings this year, marking her first new music in six years. The first recording, 'Unmistakable: Love' is a nine-track disc that includes seven new songs and two live acoustic cuts. The collection, out April 27, is available for pre-order at Jo Dee's website.
"I think this is a great way to let the fans hear all the recordings made in the last six years," says Jo Dee. "They not only get to experience the finished product, but the complete collection of songs recorded along the way."
Later this year Jo Dee will release 'Unmistakable: Drive' and 'Unmistakable: Inspiration.' The two-time Grammy nominee -- who has married and had a child since the release of her last album -- joins Blake Shelton in what is becoming something of a commercial trend. Blake's six-song 'Hillbilly Bone' was released earlier this month and quickly shot to the upper reaches of the country chart, with more music expected from him later in 2010.
Jo Dee is supporting her release with a tour -- which is scheduled to end Oct. 24 in Tacoma, Washington. She's already receiving rave reviews. Of her opening night performance last week at Feinstein's in New York, a critic for the New York Times praised the "...breezy, affable and sometimes sharp show, a scaled-down version of her Music Room Series tour: part concept, part request line, part talk show," citing such highlights as "...an airy 'Heads Carolina, Tails California,' a counter-intuitive 'Because You Love Me' and the excellent room-hushing ballad 'Bring on the Rain.'"
