Montgomery Gentry were named this year's ACM The Home Depot Humanitarian Award winners, and as part of this honor, they are able to give back to a community in need of a children's playground. The duo asked fans to help select the city where a new KaBOOM! playground will be built in their honor by The Home Depot. They gave them the choices of six cities -- Atlanta, Denver, Los Angeles, Lexington, Ky., Orlando, Fla. and Toledo, Ohio. More than 54,000 votes were recorded with Lexington receiving nearly 65 percent of the votes cast. Eddie and Troy will take part in the building of the playground in their home state this fall.
The two were chosen for their ongoing community service and their charitable efforts. Previous recipients include LeAnn Rimes, Rascal Flatts, Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, Martina McBride, Lonestar and Brooks & Dunn.
