Fans attending the Country Throwdown tour can see performances by more than 20 country stars all in one day ... and help out a great cause at the same time. Organizers of the tour, which kicked off last weekend in Florida, have announced that they are donating all proceeds from merchandise sales to help Nashville recover from the devastating floods that ravaged the area earlier this month. A portion of the money from each ticket will also go towards the worthwhile cause."We have new shirts and new ball caps and a lot of new items out there," says Montgomery Gentry's Troy Gentry. "No matter who your favorite artist is out here, we're all lending in a helping hand at the merchandise table."
Montgomery Gentry are joined by Jamey Johnson, Jack Ingram, Heidi Newfield, Eric Church, Little Big Town and more than a dozen other country acts as part of one show. "The first weekend out at the Throwdown tour was an off the hook crazy time!," says Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry. "And that's how I think live music should be, everybody there was having so much fun and it didn't cost the fans a whole lot of money."
"I loved it! It's the closest thing to a traveling circus I've ever been a part of," adds Jack Ingram. "The vibe is organic, fun, inspiring and exciting. It's everything an artist would want, and more importantly it's everything country music fans need."
The tour will wrap up June 20 in Mountain View, Calif. Get tickets and a full list of tour dates here.
