Shania Twain Wants New Music to Comfort Disadvantaged Fans

Shania Twain has been rumored to be working on new music for the past several months. And now the singer-songwriter reveals she wants to take her music to an entirely new audience.

"I would like to visit people, perhaps desperate in sensitive areas, and bring them comfort through music," Shania tells the Tribune de Genéve (for a translation, click here and input text). "I imagine something very simple, acoustical."

The Canadian native, speaking at the ninth charity gala for the Swiss Red Cross (for which she serves as an honorary patron), spoke out in response to an increased focus by the organization to work with countries suffering from poverty, including India, Bangladesh and Bolivia.

After taking some time off to deal with the unexpected split from former husband, Robert John "Mutt" Lange, the multiple Grammy-winner is moving full-speed ahead. In addition to a new album and proposed tour, she's also launching her own TV show, 'Why Not? With Shania Twain' on Oprah Winfrey's new network, OWN.

Mutt developed the of sound of Shania. It can't be replaced with another producer of songwriting partner. As she said, she is thinking of putting out an acoustic album. She is good with simple arrangements, but it certainly wouldn't sound like the layered effects that Mutt used on her. She can't reproduced "his" sound with another and why would she want to.As an artist, she is in a different pace now. She is older, set for life in the money department, can still fill an arena of old hits, and wants contribute something to the world. Congrats to her for growing up. It's not all about her anymore. It' about what she can do, in her position of wealth and fame to help others. If half the "stars' would be as giving and stop considering them selves the answer to the worlds problems, this world would be a better place. Personally don't like her music but it doesn't mean I don't respect a women coming out of a very public and painful divorce , caught a cheating husband and know has pulled through with a new sense of freedom. She has always struck me as very guarded. I didn't know who, or if there was a real person the sex pot image. She was so manugactured by Mutt,she probably doesn't now who she is. Well, good for her, she's finding out and I will be watching and listening to her. You don't get where she's been without hard work and heartache. I can't wait to read her book and at "40" she's reinventing and finding herself. She looks more relaxed. Gained some much needed weight and more human...Go Shania. You've made a new fan...Hang in there. Helping others is the best way to feel something. We should all give back in some way. We are all human...
