Many country artists are known for their strong patriotism and generosity. So it should come as no surprise that several of Nashville's biggest stars are joining together to raise money for a worthwhile cause for the military.Reba McEntire, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Randy Houser, Blake Shelton and Dierks Bentley are just a few of the artists who contributed songs for a new CD titled 'My Country: Smash Hits.' With a new compilation released every year, all proceeds benefit the Fisher House Foundation, which provides free housing for servicemen and women and their families who are receiving treatment at a military medical center. In addition to the country superstars, the album also includes an audio message by former President George Bush, as well as artwork by famed cartoon artist Gary Trudeau.
Other country superstars who support the worthwhile cause include Kenny Rogers, and Wynonna and John Rich, who donated some of their proceeds from a joint concert earlier this year to the foundation.
The compilation will be released on August 24. For more information on The Fisher House Foundation, click here.
