How would you feel if you knew that one of your songs was playing on the radio every seven minutes, for an entire decade? Well, the rest of us can just ask Pat Green. The Waco, Texas, native was presented with the "Decade Award" by the Texas Music Chart this Fourth of July, on a statewide television broadcast during an Independence Day celebration at Houston's Freedom Over Texas festival. As Nashville Gab reports, the award was given to Pat for being the artist with the most radio airplay in all of Texas during the first decade of the chart's existence. In other words, Pat Green songs played 269,783 times on Texas radio over the last ten years, or every seven minutes. Now that's a lot of spins!
Fortunately for music lovers everywhere, Texas is willing to share Pat with the rest of us. His current album, 'What I'm For,' has been a follow-up success to 'Cannonball,' his 2006 studio release. Many know him from his biggest hit, the Top 5 charted 'Wave on Wave.'
Many more fans get to know Pat from the road, where he maintains a busy schedule of concerts and special events all year long. In fact, he will be playing for the home crowd later this month at New Braunfels, Texas on July 17 and Crockett, Texas on July 23.
