Country stars get asked to sign all kinds of crazy things by fans -- even body parts. Chuck Wicks is used to it by now, but even he was surprised when a fan recently asked him to sign her teeth. He posted a photo on Twitter of himself complying with the unusual request.Turns out they were false teeth, but Chuck tells The Boot, "They were in her mouth, so it was still kind of gross!"
The 'Hold That Thought' singer estimates that about a half a dozen fans have turned his signature into a permanent tattoo on their bodies. Several have sent him photos as proof. "Two girls that were friends [had me sign] their lower backs right next to Elvis, and they got it tattooed, sure enough," he recalls with a laugh. "I told them, 'Now I know that your husband is going to see my name on your body. That's disturbing.'"
Chuck has also signed foreheads, arms, and even bellies, but says the requests to sign pregnant women's baby bumps always concern him a bit.
"I've been asked to sign quite a few," he says. "I always think this is weird, and I always get scared. I [worry] that the marker is going to leak in or something. It can't be good for the baby. Good lord, what are you going to do -- go smoke a cigarette now after this? What examples are we setting here? It's like I'm christening the baby or something. I'm always like, 'Are you sure about this?'"
But like most country stars, Chuck is happy to provide his autograph on whatever a fan requests -- within reason. "You've got to take care of your peeps," he says.
