Rodney Atkins Casts Wife in Hot Video for 'Farmer's Daughter'

Rodney Atkins, Tammy Jo Atkins When Rodney Atkins filmed the video for his latest single, 'Farmer's Daughter,' he got a taste of authentic farm life in rural Franklin, Tenn., driving a tractor and bucking hay. He also got his real-life wife, Tammy Jo, to star in the video as the farmers daughter, whom Rodney -- a young farmhand, falls in love with and ends up marrying in the storyline.

Directed by Chris Hicky (who also directed Miranda Lambert's 'White Liar'), the video for 'Farmer's Daughter' features wide-open shots of crop fields and country living, reminiscent of Rodney's earlier videos, 'Watching You' and 'It's America.'

A song about hot summer romance turning to true love, 'Farmer's Daughter' is the fastest climbing single in Rodney's career, selling more than 140,000 downloads on iTunes in just a few weeks. All combined, Rodney's previous No. 1 hits, 'If You're Going Through Hell,' 'These Are My People' and 'Cleaning This Gun' have sold nearly three-quarters of a million single downloads on iTunes, which is a sure indicator that Rodney will be breaking the million mark in no time, based on the early, sizzling sales of his newest single.

'Farmer's Daughter' is the fourth single from Rodney's third album, 'It's America.'

Rodney's real-life son, Elijah was featured in the 2006 video, 'Watching You,' playing the role of Rodney's son in the storyline.

Actually, this is not on his "It's America" album, which was his 3rd album. His first Album was "Honesty", second was "If You're Going Through Hell", which means this will probably be on his 4th album. On another note, Rodney Atkins is amazing! I am so happy to see that his wife is on this new video; it is a great video (no big suprise) and I can't wait for the release of his next album! I had the pleasure of seeing him in concert at Fort Campbell, KY last August and it was the 2nd best concert I have ever been to (the first was Chris LeDoux back in 1999). Hey Rodney, when are you going to release that song "Talk Dirty To Me"? My husband and I enjoyed it and can't wait to hear it on the radio. Rodney you rock...you are the reason my husband now enjoys country music! Thank you for being such a wonderful artist!
