Carrie Underwood is still soaking up the sun on her honeymoon, so she's certain to be sporting a nice tan when she returns to the road later this month, performing for the first time as Mrs. Mike Fisher. On July 30, she is scheduled to perform during NBC's Today Show Summer Concert Series in New York City. The next night, she is booked for a co-headlining date with pal Brad Paisley at the Greenbrier Classic in Fairlea, W.V., followed by a handful of fair and festival dates before returning with the fall leg of her Play On tour in September, with special guests Billy Currington and Sons of Sylvia.This latest tour brings Carrie's personality to the forefront and really allows her to shine as an entertainer, but she also likes to pare it down and let her voice do all of the work. "As far as touring goes, the bright lights versus nothing, I feel like that kind of thing will always continue to vary from album to album," Carrie tells The Boot. "After the whole [ACM] Entertainer of the Year win, I felt like it was time to kind of have more 'wow' moments in the show. And I might follow that up next year with an acoustic tour. That would be just about my favorite thing. There's so many moments in the show right now that I absolutely love, [and] I've never done before. They're so exciting because they're so new for me, but my love is singing, and I could stand in front of a microphone and just do that all day long and be so happy with that. So, I think that will go back and forth and just find new ways to keep things interesting for me and the fans."
During the fall leg of her tour, Carrie will donate 36 cents of every ticket sold to Save the Children programs. The charitable contribution was inspired by the lyrics of the song, 'Change,' which says even the smallest amount of spare change might make a difference and help to change the world.
