"Guess what!!????" the exuberant singer posted on her Twitter page Thursday. "I got a record deal with Broken Bow Records!"
Broken Bow is a highly successful indie label, home to Jason Aldean, Blake Wise, James Wesley and Krista Marie.
The exciting news comes while Kristy Lee is already enjoying a steady rise in popularity, thanks to buzz surrounding her new show, 'Goin' Country,' that combines her love of horses, barrel racing and hunting, as well as giving viewers a peek into her daily life.
Not everyone is a fan of Kristy Lee's return to the spotlight, however. PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) strongly denounced the reality show, alleging the rising star created the show to get her "15 minutes of shame." It's a claim Kristy Lee vehemently denies. "The meat is going somewhere," she says, "and it is great because I get to feed all these people. Whether you like hunting or not, I know I get to help people eat."
Chances are, PETA's disapproval of the 26-year-old won't diminish her star power. Grammy-wnning group, the Zac Brown Band were denounced by PETA for their pork and beef spread they serve before their concerts, while Blake Shelton enjoyed a lengthy spar with the agency last year, via Twitter, due to his love of hunting and fishing.
No word yet on when Kristy Lee will begin working on her upcoming album. A sneak peek of her TV show, as well as broadcast information, can be found here.
