One of Paul and wife Julie's six children raised on their farm just outside Music City, Chord joins the FOX series playing transfer student Sam Evans. Reportedly he will be befriended by Finn (played by series regular Cory Monteith), and then the two will become rivals.
Chord says he'd love to perform tunes by Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley on the show, but he's also game to give his dad's kind of music a chance to be heard on the show.
"I would love to do a country song on 'Glee,'" Chord tells E! Online. "We get an episode at a time, so as far as the storyline goes I don't know if it will happen. But hopefully. That would be fun."
Among the songs written or co-written by Chord's dad are Kenny Chesney's 'She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy,' 'When You Say Nothing at All,' recorded by Keith Whitley and later by Alison Krauss, the Judds' 'Love Can Build a Bridge' and Randy Travis' No. 1 hits, 'On the Other Hand' and 'Forever and Ever Amen.' Paul also reached No. 2 as an artist with the 1990 hit, 'Seein' My Father in Me.'
The second season of 'Glee' begins Tuesday, September 21, on FOX.
